In the field of agricultural research, genotyping technology is the core engine of crop breeding and variety improvement. As an important force in China's agricultural science and technology innovation, Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences (FAAS) has long been committed to genetic research and molecular breeding of rice, vegetables and other crops. Facing the demand for high-throughput experiments and the challenge of accuracy, Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences chose to cooperate with PRCXI to provide technical support for large-scale rice samples testing through the high-throughput genotyping procedure of DNA extraction by 96-well plate combined with magnetic bead method.
The relationship between Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences (FAAS) and PRCXI began with the early experience of using the manual pipetting workstation. "The equipment is easy to operate and the pipetting accuracy is stable, which fully meets the daily research needs." The laboratory of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences said. With the expansion of research scale and the improvement of experimental requirements, the laboratory is in urgent need of faster and more intelligent solutions.



Based on the experience of using PRCXI 9000 Manual Pipetting Workstation, Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences (FAS) finally chose the combination of PRCXI SC9300-V03 and SC9210 SE, which is planned to be used for crop genotyping competitions.


Tournaments in action : making every piece of data stand up to scrutiny
PRCXI pipetting workstation became the core equipment in the "PRCXI Cup Crop Genotyping Competition" organized by Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Participants relied on PRCXI automatic pipetting workstation to extract the purity and concentration of sliced seed DNA through 96-well plate combined with magnetic bead method, which was used for high-throughput genotyping of breeding groups.
Under the situation that it was the first time for most of the contestants to carry out rice seed nucleic acid extraction experiments, relying on the seed DNA extraction technology and genotyping reagents researched by the Institute of Biology of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences (IABAS), the DNA extraction and genotyping of more than 1,600 samples were completed in half a day by using four 8-channel and one 96-channel fully automated mobile pipetting workstations of PRCXI Biological and other automated equipments. The concentration and quality of DNA extracted by the parameter contestants met the expectation, and several contestants even achieved 100% success rate of genotyping, which fully proved that this set of program is easy to learn, time-saving and efficient, and has good stability.

The organizing committee of the competition stated that the concentration and purity of the prepared DNA products are more homogeneous, which reduces personnel and experimental errors, and for genotyping, the homogeneity of the DNA concentration is crucial for genotype resolution.
